Become an ANZ Hernia Society Member
Membership of the Society will be by application
Membership will be open to all persons who are actively engaged in hernia surgery and management including research, education and innovation. No restrictions shall be imposed on any person by virtue of religious or political beliefs, gender, nationality, race or age, but the Society shall have the right to refuse membership to any person without assigning any reason thereof.

Full Membership
Consultant medical practitioners with a significant interest in hernia surgery who holds a FRACS or equivalent.
Full New Zealand Surgeon Membership
Consultant medical practitioners with a significant interest in hernia surgery who holds a FRACS or equivalent and currently reside and practice in New Zealand
Surgical trainee Membership
Available to SET or pre-SET trainees who would like to broaden their knowledge on hernia surgery. Those who are keen and seek potential mentorships in the future and have ideas on taking hernia surgery forward in both Australia and New Zealand.
Overseas Surgeon Associate Membership

For international colleagues who wish to connect with our community and collaborate across borders. Free for 2026/27
Membership rules
Subscriptions will cover the financial year (1 July to 30 June). A renewal notice will be sent to members in May each year, and members whose subscriptions remain outstanding for six months will cease to receive membership benefits.
Currently, it is free to become a member if you are a surgical trainee or $250 (GST Inclusive) practicing FRACS (or equivalent) surgeon. New Zealand Surgeons for a limited time will receive FREE membership.
We have introduced a FREE membership for surgeons overseas who do not work or live in Australia or New Zealand who would like to be an associate member
All new membership applications are ratified by the ANZ Hernia Working Party.
